Ik wilde al een hele tijd mijn overleden moeder bedanken voor haar goede idee die ze me gaf vlak voor haar overlijden. Het is me gelukt om dat op papier te zetten, wat nog best even moeilijk was. In mijn column lees je waarom ik mijn lieve moeder wil bedanken.
Ik weet de dag nog goed. Ik had heerlijk hardgelopen en kwam vol energie thuis. Ik liep de trap op en zag op mijn telefoonscherm dat ‘Pa’ mij belde. Ik wist meteen dat het mis was want mijn vader belde nooit met zijn mobiele telefoon.
Terwijl ik de trap opliep nam ik op…’ Hoi pap, hoe is het?’ Nadat het even stil was zei hij ‘Pak maar een zakdoek want je moeder heeft net gehoord dat ze longkanker heeft’. Ik ben verder de trap opgelopen en aan de tafel gaan zitten. Het volgende wat mijn vader zei was ‘Het is uitgezaaid en ze zal nooit meer beter worden’.
Ik heb heel lang voor me uitgekeken omdat ik het niet kon geloven. Mijn energieke moeder die midden in het leven staat, is ziek. Heel erg ziek! Daarna heb ik heel hard in mijn eentje zitten huilen en kon daar ook niet meer mee stoppen. Mijn lieve mama, die kan toch nog niet doodgaan!
